Work Environment

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will work onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in Tampa, Florida. This facility is equipped with advanced therapeutic technologies and tools, designed to provide an optimal setting for patient recovery. The work hours are set at 40 hours a week, including variable weekends as needed, allowing for meaningful interactions with patients throughout their rehabilitation journeys.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive examinations of patients with orthopedic conditions to identify functional limitations and disabilities.
• Evaluate findings from physical assessments and develop personalized treatment and discharge plans based on clinical evidence and practices.
• Implement and oversee the execution of treatment plans, adapting strategies as necessary to meet the evolving needs of each patient.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding therapy processes, expectations, and safety.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient progress, services rendered, and billing information to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and nursing staff, to optimize the continuum of care and facilitate a holistic approach to treatment.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives, inclusive of educational workshops and marketing activities, to promote the rehabilitation services offered.
• Participate in staff meetings and pursue continuous professional development to enhance clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, including Physical Therapist Assistants and aides, ensuring an efficient workflow within the department.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, traumatic injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will work with a diverse patient demographic, ranging from young athletes to elderly individuals, tailoring your approach to meet the specific needs of each age group and cultural background. Providing empathetic and culturally competent care is paramount, as you guide patients through their rehabilitation journeys towards regaining strength and independence.

Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this position, applicants must hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) along with a current state license to practice. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to consistently meet productivity expectations while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Preferred Experience

While a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is mandatory, candidates with prior experience in orthopedic rehabilitation settings will be given preference. Familiarity with software systems for maintaining patient records and scheduling as well as experience in team leadership roles can enhance an applicant's profile within our organization.

Compensation and Benefits

Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Inc. offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
