Work Environment\n

This position offers a full-time remote work setting, allowing you to maintain a comfortable work-life balance while effectively supporting the mental health needs of inmates. Our operational hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, create a structured routine; however, flexibility is expected, which may include occasional evening shifts, rotating weekends, and some on-call availability in case urgent mental health needs arise.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for inmates, evaluating personal histories and presenting concerns to identify their psychological needs comprehensively.

• Develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with individuals while focusing on mental health issues and facilitating reintegration into the community.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), adapting techniques to suit diverse inmates' needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to foster personal development, emotional regulation, and effective coping mechanisms.

• Engage in multi-disciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to ensure a holistic care approach.

• Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, deploying de-escalation techniques and making referrals for advanced treatment as required.

• Provide psychoeducation to inmates and their families, helping them understand mental health conditions and available treatment resources.

• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes are current and accurate.

• Participate actively in team meetings and staff development sessions to foster collaborative practices and enhance treatment effectiveness.

• Stay informed on the latest laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines that govern mental health practices within correctional facilities.

Qualifications\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
