Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact serving as a Special Education Teacher for a 4th grade classroom in an elementary school setting near Chicago, IL. In this contract position, you’ll work within a cross-categorical instructional program, providing meaningful educational experiences for students with diverse academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs.

As a key part of the instructional team, you’ll have the opportunity to offer specialized teaching while addressing individualized IEP goals, collaborating closely with aides, support staff, and related service providers to help every student thrive in a supportive, structured environment.

What you’ll bring:

• Valid Special Education certification for Illinois
• Experience working with elementary-aged students
• Familiarity with cross-categorical instruction
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
• Knowledge of visual, sensory, and behavioral interventions
• Team-oriented, with excellent communication skills
• Flexibility and compassion to support unique individual needs

Core responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction aligned to grade-level standards as well as individualized IEP goals
• Utilize structured and visual teaching supports, along with behavioral, social-emotional, and sensory interventions
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Collaborate regularly with program aides, 1:1 staff, and related service providers to maximize each student’s success
• Collect and analyze progress data, adapting instruction as needed
• Communicate routinely with families and staff members regarding student growth and strategies
