Desired Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching certification (Illinois or eligible for transfer)
• Experience with cross-categorical special education in elementary settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation
• Expertise in structured teaching, behavioral and sensory supports, and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication skills, with collaborative mindset for partnering with aides, related service providers, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 5th-grade special education instruction following individualized IEP goals and grade-level standards
• Deliver academic, behavioral, communication, social-emotional, and sensory supports
• Utilize structured, visual, and adaptive interventions tailored to student needs
• Coordinate and co-plan with program aide and 1:1 support staff
• Maintain detailed records and ongoing communication with all stakeholders
