Key Responsibilities

• Elicit and evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients to understand their unique needs.
• Formulate individualized treatment plans utilizing various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored specifically to clients' goals and preferences.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, discuss treatment alternatives, and encourage self-care practices to promote wellness.
• Monitor and document client progress regularly, adapting treatment plans based on feedback and changes in client circumstances.
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to integrate care for clients dealing with complex issues.
• Stay informed about the latest research in mood disorders and therapy techniques to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain meticulous records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards to uphold client confidentiality.
• Engage in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and foster collective professional development.
• Advocate for clients within the mental healthcare system, aiming to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and ensure appropriate access to resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The therapist in this role will primarily work with individuals and families navigating relationship issues, including divorce and parental dynamics. We serve a diverse population, so experience in cultural competence and empathy for various backgrounds is essential. The ability to build a trusting therapeutic relationship is vital for facilitating effective healing processes.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing a rapport with clients to foster trust and openness.
• Ability to demonstrate empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude toward clients' experiences, enhancing their comfort in discussing sensitive topics.
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads effectively, ensuring timely documentation and administrative tasks are completed.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in using multiple therapeutic modalities, particularly those focused on systemic family dynamics.
• Previous work experience in outpatient therapy settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and technologies to conduct sessions effectively in a virtual space.

Compensation and Benefits

• The compensation range for this role is between USD 70,000 and 90,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
