Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' symptoms related to mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, ensuring an accurate understanding of their concerns.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect clients' specific goals, needs, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment possibilities, and self-care strategies, empowering them to manage their mental health effectively.
• Monitor and document client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on client feedback and clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers as part of an integrated care model, ensuring a holistic approach to each client’s mental health.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous education opportunities.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs, striving to reduce stigma surrounding mental illness and promote access to care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily support clients experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Your clients may come from diverse backgrounds, including individuals facing challenges such as homelessness, substance use, domestic violence, or trauma. Your work will directly impact their stabilization and recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment of a trusting rapport with clients.
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding, with a therapeutic style that embraces a nonjudgmental approach.
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities to handle a varied caseload effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural competency in mental health.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a commitment to implementing best practices in clinical settings.
• Previous work in community health clinics or similar environments is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range of $70,000–$90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
