Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews and assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based strategies and interventions to facilitate recovery for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on specific therapeutic goals and promoting open dialogue among participants.
\n
• Monitor and evaluate client progress continuously throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as needed to align with therapeutic goals.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to develop comprehensive care strategies.
\n
• Manage referrals to external services, ensuring clients receive the necessary support for their mental health journey.
\n
• Provide follow-up care for clients who are hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care and smooth transitions back into outpatient treatment.

• Educate and empower family members and primary caregivers in managing mental and behavioral health challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

At Life Well Counseling Center, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, ranging from adolescents to older adults, each presenting unique challenges and mental health needs. Our clients often experience issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, trauma, and adjustment disorders. As a counselor, your role will be critical in promoting resilience and facilitating positive change in their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a current and valid license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
\n
• A successful completion and passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and collaborative partners.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, ideally with a focus on telehealth counseling.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is a plus.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Experience treating clients with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
\n
• An understanding of the potential effects of psychotropic medications on clients in therapy.
\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
