Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the presence and severity of mood disorders in clients, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.

• Collaborate directly with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate their unique goals, preferences, and challenges.

• Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailoring approaches to suit individual client needs.

• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to promote better health outcomes.

• Monitor clients’ progress throughout their treatment journey, and adjust treatment plans based on observed changes and feedback.

• Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all aspects of a patient’s care are integrated and comprehensive.

• Stay informed of the latest research and methodologies in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapeutic efficacy.
\n
• Document all client sessions accurately and confidentially, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards

• Engage in regular team meetings and professional development initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical expertise and fostering a culture of learning.

• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs within and outside of the clinical setting, seeking to reduce stigma around mood disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working with a diverse group of clients who experience a range of mood disorders including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Our patients come from various backgrounds, highlighting the need for cultural competency and sensitivity in treatment approaches.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in therapeutic settings is required, specifically with mood disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT.
\n
• Strong diagnostic skills and the capability to develop effective treatment plans collaboratively with clients.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients of diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience specializing in the treatment of mood disorders is preferred.
