Essential Responsibilities Provide excellent college‑preparatory instruction to all scholars. Develop and maintain a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college‑preparatory levels. Effectively execute assigned curriculum and just‑in‑time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency. Prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college‑ready standards within teacher teams and individually. Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to determine differentiated re‑teaching needed to advance all scholars toward demonstrating mastery. Collaborate with peers to ensure that all scholars receive the appropriate support, including the accommodations they need to successfully access grade‑level content. Uphold Alliance values and standards of excellence, including providing scholars opportunities aligned with the Alliance’s College‑Ready Graduate Profile. Create a coherent and supportive classroom culture to support scholar engagement, learning, and well‑being. Support Alliance’s aspiration to prepare all scholars for college, with 75% or more completing a four‑year college degree. Seek opportunities, both individually and through school‑based initiatives, to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni. Social justice orientation: desire to teach in systemically underserved communities in LosAngeles and to integrate anti‑racist, pro‑Black, student‑centered instruction. Data literacy: knowledge of how to use data, technology, and innovative teaching methods to monitor growth and scholar progress. Expertise: strong academic content expertise, instructional and classroom management skills, and in‑depth knowledge of effective evaluation and assessment techniques. Relationship‑building: strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills with children and adults. Minimum Qualifications California teaching credential in the assigned subject area(s) and a valid English Learner Authorization. Credential types accepted (by start date): California Single Subject Credential in Mathematics or Foundational‑Level Mathematics (Clear or Preliminary). California University or District Intern Credential in Mathematics or Foundational‑Level Mathematics. Equivalent out‑of‑state credential transferring to California. For middle school only: California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with an Introductory Supplementary Authorization in Mathematics. Bachelor’s degree (if no credential, provide transcript for evaluation to determine eligibility for an emergency teaching permit).
