Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews with clients to gather comprehensive mental health histories, documenting each case meticulously from initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients to inform tailored treatment plans that encapsulate individual needs and preferences.

• Develop and implement recovery plans while facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
\n
• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health specialists, medical professionals, and support staff to create unified intervention strategies for clients.
\n
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who may need hospital care, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively develop strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers in addressing mental health needs and challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Rosewood, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and various life transitions. Clients may range from young adults seeking coping strategies to families in need of support. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• A passing score on the NCE and/or the NCMHCE.
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor with a strong track record of success in therapeutic settings.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Experience working with clients facing underlying physical health issues, emotional disturbances, and addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• A comprehensive understanding of prescribed medications and their potential effects on mental health.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills with a deep-seated compassion for clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a similar role, ideally within a community health or outpatient setting.

• Experience conducting both individual and group therapy, with a holistic approach that accounts for physical and social factors impacting mental health.
