Senior ML/AI Cheminformatics Scientist

Senior cheminformatics data scientist role within Pfizer's pharmacokinetics organization focused on developing machine learning models for molecular property prediction and ADME analysis. The position involves building and deploying computational workflows to support small-molecule drug discovery and lead optimization using proprietary chemical and biological datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop cheminformatics algorithms for molecular modeling, virtual screening, and structure-activity relationship analysis
• Build, validate, and maintain machine learning models for ADME property prediction
• Process and analyze chemical and biological datasets to evaluate drug-likeness and dosing properties
• Optimize data pipelines for chemical structure processing using cheminformatics toolkits
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate computational approaches into discovery workflows

Requirements

• PhD in relevant field OR Master's degree with 2+ years cheminformatics/computational chemistry experience
• Proficiency in Python with cheminformatics libraries (RDKit, OpenEye, DeepChem)
• Experience with SAR model-building software such as SciKit-Learn or Torch
• Strong statistical knowledge and model performance evaluation skills
• Experience with version control systems (git) in collaborative environments
• Familiarity with molecular descriptors, fingerprints, and similarity metrics

Compensation: $93,600–$156,000 base salary, plus 12.5% bonus target and long-term incentive eligibility
