Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students through a full-time contract role covering a maternity leave from November 16th, 2026, to January 29th, 2027. Work virtually or onsite with a diverse caseload of approximately 50 students, including those in resource classrooms and the RISE program, serving children with moderate disabilities. This position allows you to apply specialized skills in speech-language pathology while being part of a supportive school environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Speech-Language Pathology license (WA SLP License)
- Washington Education Staff Associate (ESA) certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Previous experience working within elementary education settings, ideally with students requiring resource support or moderate special education services
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for effective teamwork with educators and families
- Experience managing and prioritizing a caseload with varied needs
- Proficiency with virtual platforms if choosing remote work
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language assessments and therapy to elementary-aged students in general education, resource, and specialized programs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ speech/language needs
- Consult and coordinate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to maximize communication success in the school setting
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress and strategies
