Payroll Accountant About the Opportunity A well-established, mission-driven organization in Springfield, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join its finance team. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting broader accounting functions in a collaborative environment. Compensation & Benefits 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) Supportive and collaborative work environment Competitive salary: $55,000 – $60,000 15% employer retirement contribution Comprehensive health insurance 4 weeks of paid time off (PTO) Supportive and collaborative work environment Key Responsibilities Process and manage full-cycle payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations Maintain payroll records, deductions, and benefit allocations Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare related journal entries Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Support audits and reporting related to payroll and benefits Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure data integrity Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred 2+ years of payroll or accounting experience Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Working knowledge of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel Understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality #J-18808-Ljbffr United States Electric Co
