Key Responsibilities\n

• Psychosocial Assessment: Conduct timely and thorough assessments that take into consideration human behavior and psychosocial factors affecting treatment outcomes. Address any ethical and risk issues that may arise.

• Clinical Intervention: Provide supportive counseling to patients and their families, connect them with community resources, facilitate family meetings, assist in navigating difficult choices regarding end-of-life care, and collaborate with physicians to ensure comprehensive patient support.

• Caseload Management: Effectively manage caseload and prioritize high-risk situations. Collaborate with colleagues to address complex patient needs and ensure efficient transitions in care.

• Legal and Ethical Considerations: Integrate legal and ethical standards into all aspects of clinical assessment and intervention, including compliance with hospital policies and regulations related to suspected abuse, patient rights, and more.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, including interdisciplinary plans of care and progress notes, following established policies and protocols.

• Training and Education: Provide in-service training to healthcare staff about psychosocial issues impacting patient care, enhancing their understanding and skills in addressing these concerns.

• Quality Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at monitoring and improving the quality of patient care through data analysis and process evaluations.

• Community Engagement: Organize and lead support groups and educational programs for patients, families, and hospital staff, contributing to a broader understanding of the psychosocial aspects of care.

• Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other related duties such as supporting Social Work Month activities and collaborative programs across departments.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Must hold a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in California.

• At least two years of experience working in a medical setting, with a minimum of one year in a cancer care environment.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience.
