Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, affording you the flexibility to create your own work environment while still being an integral part of a supportive team. Our outpatient office in San Jose provides a collaborative platform where therapists work alongside psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure our patients receive cohesive and comprehensive care. Our typical working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility required for evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to establish patients' needs and treatment goals, ensuring individualized care.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing recognized evidence-based therapeutic methods.

• Lead individual counseling sessions focusing on motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic modalities tailored to addiction recovery.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions that foster peer support and shared experiences among individuals in recovery.
\n
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and addiction medicine professionals to coordinate care and enhance treatment effectiveness.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during substance-related emergencies to stabilize patients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families regarding addiction, available resources, and recovery strategies to foster a comprehensive support system.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards set forth by the organization.

• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

• Stay informed of new developments in the field of substance use disorder treatment and best practices to improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on individuals grappling with substance use disorders, including but not limited to addiction to alcohol, prescription medications, and illicit substances. As a counselor, you will engage with a diverse patient demographic, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet multifaceted needs and promoting a culture of understanding, empathy, and respect.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, or licensed Psychologist in the state of California.
\n
• Robust knowledge of substance use disorders and associated evidence-based treatment modalities.
\n
• Experience delivering therapeutic services in both individual and group settings, specifically targeting addiction recovery.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, promoting a non-judgmental atmosphere conducive to patient engagement.

• Strong ethical standards, ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

• Competence in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.

• Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team dynamic.

Compensation and Benefits\n
