Licensed Physical Therapist - Outpatient Specialty Care

Work Environment

The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic outpatient setting where collaboration and communication are key. Our Freehold office is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation technology and an engaging environment designed to promote healing and recovery. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and physical therapy assistants, to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical statuses using diagnostic and prognostic assessments, including muscle, nerve, and joint evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and enhancing functional movement, always in accordance with the prescribed plan of care.
• Supervise and integrate the efforts of Physical Therapy Assistants in implementing the treatment plan, ensuring adherence to state regulations and quality standards.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques while motivating patients in their non-manual tasks and functional activities.
• Implement and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed, collaborating with the lead orthotist and patients' physicians to recommend necessary modifications.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in our EMR system (preferably Web PT), including initial evaluations and ongoing progress notes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary case conferences, effectively communicating changes in patient conditions and making appropriate recommendations for modifications to the care plan.
• Educate patients and their families regarding care strategies, including the proper use of physical therapy devices, enhancing their understanding of the recovery process.
• Complete clinical records diligently and promptly for clear communication within the care team.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training to stay abreast of the latest evidence-based practices in physical therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our therapists are dedicated to providing care that is both empathetic and evidence-based, focusing on enhancing patient independence and mobility. Each treatment plan is intricately tailored to address the unique challenges faced by our diverse clientele, which ranges from young athletes to older adults seeking rehabilitation from surgery or injury.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Active physical therapist license in New Jersey with a clean history free from sanctions.
• Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a strong ability to create effective exercise programs based on individual assessments.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, preferably Web PT, for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
• Strong communication skills, able to articulate clinical findings and recommendations to patients and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is highly preferred.
• Experience working with a diverse patient population demonstrating versatility in treatment approaches.
• Desire to mentor and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and contribute to their professional growth.

Compensation and Benefits

The selected candidate will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
