Conduct assessments on patients of all ages utilizing recognized evaluation methods and observational techniques.
Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate needs and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
Deliver individual speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to ensure holistic care strategies.
Provide educational resources to patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinical environment.
Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions for speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
Document patient progress meticulously to meet state, federal, and organization standards.
Stay abreast of field advancements through continuous education and collaborative learning with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all ages, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and collaborative care teams.
Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Robust clinical reasoning paired with problem-solving skills.
Comfortable utilizing electronic medical record systems and upholding documentation standards.
