Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations across pediatric, adult, and elderly demographics using a blend of standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans designed to target both immediate goals and the long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges faced by your patients.
- Deliver direct one-on-one therapy sessions focused on communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Engage collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members, to develop integrated patient care strategies.
- Provide education and resources for patients and their families to support consistent progress beyond clinical settings.
- Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and therapy interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout all touchpoints of the patient journey.
- Maintain precise and timely records, adhering to state and organizational regulations throughout documentation processes.
- Commit to professional growth by keeping abreast of advancements in speech-language pathology and engaging with peers for collaborative learning.
Education Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to achieve ASHA certification.
Necessary Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of your start date.
