You will utilize state-of-the-art technology to facilitate individual and group therapy sessions from anywhere in New York.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients to document their mental health history, progress during initial consultations, and throughout the treatment journey.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health through structured assessment tools and direct interactions, fostering a deep understanding of their unique situations.
\n
• Develop and implement tailored treatment and intervention plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that approaches are aligned with best practices in mental health treatment.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions that promote open communication, personal growth, and recovery.
\n
• Monitor clients’ progress systematically throughout the duration of treatment and adapt strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention plans that address all aspects of clients’ health.

• Maintain regular follow-ups with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who are hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Identify behaviors that may impede recovery and proactively implement strategies to address these challenges.
\n
• Provide assistance and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to manage mental and behavioral challenges in their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients range from children to adults facing various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and coping with major life changes. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will play an essential role in not only treating these disorders but also empowering clients through education about their mental health and guidance towards healthier coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• A valid score from the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential for effective therapy and collaboration.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a capacity for empathy and understanding.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, particularly in a telehealth or remote environment.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to ensure proper documentation and care tracking.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the best practices in mental health counseling, as guided by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Experience working with clients dealing with both emotional health conditions and addiction disorders is a plus.
\n
• Solid understanding of medications prescribed by other medical specialists and their effects on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 annually, accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
