Key Responsibilities\n

As a full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Heartlight Counseling Center, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate client symptoms, understanding the severity and frequency of mood disorders to inform treatment strategies.

• Collaborating with clients to design individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and preferences, incorporating evidence-based practices.

• Utilizing therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) effectively to support clients through their recovery journey.

• Providing education and resources to clients and their families regarding treatment options, mood disorders, and self-care techniques.

• Monitoring client progress throughout the treatment process and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans in real-time.
\n
• Engaging in regular collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, comprehensive care is delivered.

• Staying informed of the latest research and developments in mood disorders to ensure the highest quality of therapeutic interventions.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans, strictly adhering to ethical standards.

• Participating actively in case consultations and team meetings, contributing toward continuous professional development and enhancing therapeutic skills.

• Advocating for clients, aiming to reduce stigma associated with mental health challenges and promoting their wellness needs in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals experiencing a variety of mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our clientele is diverse and represents a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, offering you the opportunity to utilize culturally sensitive practices while addressing their unique mental health needs.

Qualifications\n

• A valid clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) in the state of California is required.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.

• Strong foundation in understanding behavioral problems and emotional/social disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with California laws and professional ethics pertaining to mental health practice.
\n
• Successful completion of all background checks through the FBI and DOJ.
\n
• Must present a recent TB test (within the last six months).
\n

Preferred Experience\n

Preferred candidates will possess a minimum of three years of experience working in mental health counseling, particularly in outpatient settings. We value familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic methodologies specific to mood disorders and previous experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Heartlight Counseling Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
