The San Antonio Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health therapist to join our team in providing specialized care for individuals navigating their trauma recovery journeys. Work Environment\n

This remote role provides flexibility while still being connected to a team of professionals who are passionate about mental health. As an outpatient mental health counselor, you will manage your schedule during standard working hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some adjustments permissible based on patient needs. You will work independently while having the support of a collaborative network of therapists and psychiatrists.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to gauge patients' histories and tailor appropriate treatment plans.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies aiming for trauma recovery and resilience enhancement.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, enabling patients to process their trauma and learn effective coping mechanisms.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated and comprehensive care to patients.

• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patient safety and emotional stability.
\n
• Educate patients and families regarding trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources for ongoing support.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and engage in continuous professional development focused on trauma-informed practices.

• Stay informed on the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy to continually refine treatment approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client population includes individuals who have experienced trauma, including veterans, survivors of abuse, and those grappling with PTSD and related disorders. The San Antonio Counseling Center provides a nurturing and empathetic atmosphere aimed specifically at helping these individuals process their experiences, build resilience, and reclaim their narratives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and unrestricted licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
\n
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health or counseling setting preferred.
\n
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
\n
• Ability to remain composed in high-stress environments while providing quality support to patients.
\n
• Competency in using electronic health record systems and familiarity with applicable computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions, especially EMDR and TF-CBT methodologies.

• Proficiency in working with diverse populations and a clear understanding of cultural competency as it pertains to trauma recovery.

Compensation and Benefits\n
