Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Access Management in Palo Alto, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology-focused location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and respond to alarms and security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while using technology to document activities. DayTimeFri11:00 PM - 07:00 AMSat11:00 PM - 07:00 AMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors at a technology and research-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of research, office, laboratory-adjacent, parking, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual conditions and maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and support visitor and contractor entry procedures in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for security-related incidents, patrols, and observations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
