Acute Care RN - Emergency Department

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. This role emphasizes best practices, customer service, and adherence to professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics and relevant nursing regulations.

This position operates on a third-shift schedule with 36 hours weekly in a supportive and growth-oriented environment serving the broader Midwest region.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs.
• Apply clinical expertise to assign patient care based on acuity and technical requirements, continuously enhancing skills through evidence-based practice.
• Deliver exceptional patient and visitor experiences by demonstrating respect, integrity, empathy, and collaboration.
• Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, reporting near misses, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Engage in professional development opportunities including certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership roles.
• Foster teamwork by motivating colleagues, providing mentorship, and encouraging cooperative relationships across departments.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years in acute care if from a non-accredited program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in advanced nursing programs is acceptable.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.
