Work Environment

The Physical Therapist position is based in our outpatient office located in Melbourne, Florida. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, gathering critical information from patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams to form accurate assessments.
• Adhere to the State Practice Act and Standards of Practice while ensuring compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with clearly defined goals to support patient recovery, while regularly re-evaluating progress and making necessary adjustments.
• Use specialized therapeutic techniques and equipment, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of safe operation and maintenance while providing clear instructions to patients.
• Document patient information meticulously for accurate billing and clinical records and ensure that all interaction complies with established standards.
• Maintain regular communication with patients regarding their treatment, providing education and resources aimed at promoting long-term health benefits.
• Recognize when patients have achieved optimal recovery goals, celebrating their successes and guiding them to the next steps in their wellness journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role primarily involves working with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their physical function. You will encounter various age groups and diverse health backgrounds, allowing you to apply your expertise in tailoring treatments that are age-appropriate and effectively meet the unique needs of each individual.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy.
• Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida; a temporary permit is acceptable during the licensing process.
• Active BLS/Healthcare Provider certification to ensure patient safety in all care settings.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a busy outpatient orthopedic setting is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits
