Work Environment

This position is full-time and will take place onsite at our surgical center based in Garden City, ensuring that you are closely integrated with our healthcare team and patient interactions. You will typically work Monday to Friday, with a full schedule of 40 hours per week, beginning with a shift around 5:00 PM. This setting provides dynamic engagement with a variety of cases and interactions with both patients and medical staff, ensuring a fulfilling workday.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations, gathering comprehensive medical histories and reviewing patient records with precision.
• Order, analyze, and interpret a wide range of diagnostic tests, including blood work and imaging studies to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions in patients with a focus on family medicine.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans for both chronic and infectious diseases while responding to patient progress.
• Prescribe medications and adjust dosages based on patient responses and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules in compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
• Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to promote health and wellness.
• Perform medical consultations and assist with therapeutic procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.
• Oversee and manage the ongoing health and well-being of patients through systematic follow-ups and assessments.
• Encourage and implement healthy lifestyle practices and preventive measures in patient care.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of advancements in family medicine and healthcare delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as a Physician Assistant, you will be directly involved with a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients. You will address a variety of health concerns including chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and preventative health strategies. Your work will play a crucial role in improving patient outcomes and ensuring continuity of care within the surgical and outpatient environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Active certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• A strong foundation in family medicine, enhanced by substantial clinical exposure in primary care settings.
• Exceptional knowledge of patient care regulations and ethical guidelines.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• A proven track record as a Physician Assistant in a family health clinic or similar setting.
• Experience with surgical patients and knowledge of perioperative care.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 160,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
