Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and their families, identifying emotional, social, and environmental strengths and challenges related to their diagnoses and life situations.

• Develop, implement, and modify comprehensive treatment plans utilizing various social work interventions tailored to individual patient needs.

• Facilitate discharge planning collaboratively with the health care team, ensuring smooth transitions for patients and families from the treatment setting to home or other care facilities.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families, addressing adaptation strategies concerning illness and any accompanying life changes.
\n
• Administer crisis intervention and conduct individual, group, and family therapies as needed, supporting patients during crucial moments of their recovery process.

• Act as a resource for other staff members by sharing expertise and offering guidance on psychosocial issues that may arise in patient care.

• Present at educational conferences to share knowledge and expertise in psychosocial oncology practice, enhancing community understanding and support for those affected by cancer.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hour calls, ensuring ongoing patient support and care continuity.

• Facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act if clinically necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients requiring immediate intervention.

• Engage in community services through education, consultation, research, and volunteering to foster relationships and bolster resources available for cancer survivors.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on patients in our detox center, many of whom are navigating challenges related to addiction recovery and mental health conditions. As a LICSW, you will address the unique psychosocial needs of these patients, assisting them in coping with their circumstances and facilitating change through targeted therapies and support mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work is required; a Master's in Social Work is preferred.

• Current and valid LICSW license to practice in Massachusetts.

• Proficiency in conducting psychosocial assessments and developing comprehensive treatment plans.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, interdisciplinary team environment.

• Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and handling sensitive patient situations.

Desert View Psychiatry PC offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
