Work Environment

As a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner, you will work onsite at our state-of-the-art assisted living facility. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough history and physical examinations for residents, ensuring a complete understanding of their medical backgrounds.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, evaluating the results to ascertain the best treatment pathways.
• Manage a range of medications, including narcotic and non-narcotic options, in line with established practice guidelines to effectively manage pain.
• Assess the appropriateness of patients for various interventional pain treatments, including epidural steroid injections, trigger point injections, and other innovative therapies.
• Perform specialized procedures such as trigger point injections and greater occipital nerve blocks, enhancing the quality of pain relief for our residents.
• Create and implement individualized care plans, regularly reviewing and adjusting them based on patient responses and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is the geriatric population residing in our assisted living facility. Many of our residents deal with chronic pain conditions and complexities associated with aging and mental health disorders. The Nurse Practitioner will implement both pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management strategies that consider the emotional and psychological well-being of the individuals under care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or higher from an accredited nursing school is mandatory.
• An active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas is required.
• Prior experience in geriatric care or pain management is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in critical care, inpatient, outpatient, or pediatric settings enhances candidate profiles.
• Familiarity with telemedicine practices can greatly benefit our approach to resident care.
• Hands-on experience in a hospital or similar healthcare environments will be a considerable advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
