Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth by developing industry relationships, generating sales opportunities, and expanding the company's network of customers and strategic partners in the solar industry . Additionally, they will be responsible for managing solar customer projects end-to-end, ensuring smooth execution, timely payments, and overall customer satisfaction. Primary business development tasks will include: Sell Enact's solar design and engineering services to solar installers, EPCs, developers, homebuilders, architects, engineers, and energy professionals. Services include permit ready plan sets, single line diagrams (SLDs), structural and electrical engineering stamps, Title 24 compliance documentation, shade reports, and other solar project design and engineering solutions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners throughout the Bay Area and nationwide. Attend industry networking events, trade shows, and association meetings in the Bay Area to represent the company and identify new business opportunities. Prospect, qualify, and follow up with design services leads through phone calls, email outreach, and in-person meetings. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and generate repeat business. Conduct market research to identify new customer segments, partnership opportunities, and industry trends. Primary project management tasks will include (secondary): Manage solar projects from contract execution through permit approval, installation, payment collection, and project closeout. Serving as the main point of contact and setting clear expectations for customers during project execution. Coordinate plan set development and engineering deliverables with internal team by assigning projects and ensuring timely completion and approval. Submit permit applications through local AHJs, online permitting portals, and SolarAPP+. Visiting customer homes after system installation to verify project completion, ensure customer satisfaction, and obtain final project acceptance documentation. Liaising with installers and coordinating with internal cross functional teams to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure work is completed to customer satisfaction. Working with accounting to follow up with customers for payments when needed. Maintaining accurate records of payments, project updates, and customer communications. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Based in or around Pleasanton, California, with flexibility to travel locally to customer sites and banks. 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, operations, or customer-facing roles (fresh graduates with the right attitude will also be considered). Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with customers and partners. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Self-starter with a “go the extra mile” attitude and strong sense of ownership. Preferred: Experience working in renewable energy, construction, or related industries. Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot). Exposure to project management tools and agile processes. What We Offer Competitive compensation package.
