Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• 13-20 week contract assignments available in a 36-bed Med/Surg-Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Diverse patient population including diabetes, CHF, COPD, sepsis, surgical recovery, renal failure, and stroke patients
• Remote telemetry monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management responsibilities
• Self-scheduling system with 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Float capability may be required to nearby campus location; disaster/storm team participation expected

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg-Telemetry experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certification required; ACLS and Telemetry certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred
• Required clinical skills: telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central line blood draws, wound care/wound vac, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, blood product administration, feeding tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, chest tube management, and isolation precautions
• Preferred skills: charge experience, post-angiogram care, post-cardiac surgery, bariatric surgery, port access/management, CVA care, substance withdrawal management, and tracheostomy care
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must be available to work major holidays (2 out of 3 required)
• Maximum of 7 days approved time off per contract
