Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant at our Surgical Center, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, interacting closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The center operates primarily from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, ensuring structured working hours conducive to work-life balance. In this onsite setting, you will manage a diverse patient population, primarily dealing with surgical cases across various specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical and mental health assessments, ensuring comprehensive information is collected from each patient through problem-focused exams and detailed medical histories.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging to evaluate and address patient health concerns.
• Formulate and implement tailored treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and other healthcare team members, leveraging evidence-based practices.
• Prescribe and manage therapeutic interventions, including medications, while paying close attention to efficacy, safety, and potential side effects.
  • Provide counseling to patients about treatment options, medication regimens, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to promote better health outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous records documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes to support continuity of care.
• Participate in consultations and referrals for specialized care as necessary, ensuring patients receive comprehensive health services.
• Perform minor surgical procedures as permitted under your supervision agreement and skill level.
• Participate in on-call duties or extended hours as needed to ensure optimal coverage for patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily provide care to surgical patients, dealing with both routine and complex cases that require careful assessment and intervention. Our diverse patient population may include individuals undergoing elective surgeries, emergency procedures, and post-operative care. Your role will be critical in ensuring that these patients are informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and a valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Florida.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical setting is required.
• Strong abilities in critical thinking, effective communication, time management, and decision-making.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical or hospital-based setting is highly favorable, particularly with exposure to a variety of surgical specialties.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

Our competitive compensation package includes a salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that features:
