Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Focus Counseling, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations using the latest DSM guidelines under the supervision of licensed professionals.

• Providing short-term psychotherapy and counseling services for individuals, families, and groups dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including crisis intervention and skills training.

• Coordinating care and treatment plans with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring clients receive theoretically sound and evidence-based interventions tailored to their needs.

• Maintaining meticulous records for therapy sessions and coordinating with social agencies, schools, and families to gather important patient information.

• Engaging in collaborative consultations with other healthcare professionals to discuss treatment strategies, progress, and case complexities.

• Participating in clinical team meetings and quality management activities to help enhance our service delivery processes.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for the Mental Health Counselor role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work from an accredited institution.

• A valid license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Psy.D in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in providing psychotherapy services.

Compensation and Benefits\n
