Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations that assess muscle function, mobility, and strength.
• Direct and oversee the activities of physical therapy assistants, ensuring the appropriate delivery of therapy services as per the established plan of care.
• Utilize evidence-based assessments and treatment modalities, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training, to promote optimal recovery.
• Conduct regular evaluations of patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary with input from multidisciplinary team members.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, therapy techniques, and home exercise programs to foster autonomy and self-management.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, complying with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
• Participate actively in team meetings to discuss patient outcomes, share insights, and coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
• Provide guidance and supervision to physical therapy assistants and other support staff as required, promoting a learning environment that encourages skill enhancement.
• Advocate for patient needs, communicating effectively with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care delivery.
• Complete necessary clinical and administrative documentation promptly, upholding the standards of our organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve include individuals recovering from surgery, those managing chronic conditions, and patients undergoing rehabilitation after injuries. Our clientele may vary in age, ranging from young adults to seniors, and each presents unique challenges that require tailored therapy solutions. Your role will significantly influence their recovery journey, promoting independence and improving their overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• A valid and current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• At least one year of clinical experience, preferably in an outpatient or rehabilitation setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage and communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• A commitment to clinical excellence, with a passion for individualized patient care.
• Proficiency in understanding and complying with federal, state, and industry regulations regarding therapy services.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient rehabilitation, with a focus on diverse patient populations.

Compensation and Benefits
