Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments, analyzing patients’ trauma histories to inform treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, incorporating evidence-based techniques like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, emphasizing safe spaces for patients to explore trauma, learn coping strategies, and promote healing.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.

• Respond to crisis situations with calmness and professionalism, providing immediate support during trauma-related emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and community resources to enhance support systems.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring the integrity of patient records.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance trauma-informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on individuals who have been impacted by traumatic experiences. This includes treating clients experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will embrace a compassionate approach to help patients navigate their healing journeys, employing personalized strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid and current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated through a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

• Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations, ensuring professional and empathetic interactions.

• Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and adept with necessary computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
