Key Responsibilities\n

• Independently manage a diverse caseload of students referred by the Social Work Service Department, evaluating their social, emotional, and educational needs.

• Utilize a systematic approach in applying various therapeutic modalities to identify and dismantle psychosocial barriers that impede students' academic and personal success.
\n
• Lead healthcare team efforts by coordinating responses to protective service issues, facilitating advance directives, and guiding complex life care decisions for students.
\n
• Proactively develop and implement treatment plans for students experiencing high levels of psychosocial stress, employing crisis intervention strategies as necessary.
\n
• Collaborate with case managers and a broad healthcare team to provide comprehensive education, resources, and referrals, addressing all facets of student well-being.
\n
• Maintain continuous communication to ensure that psychosocial needs are incorporated into treatment and discharge plans, prioritizing respect for students' rights.
\n
• Supervise Social Work Interns, MSWs, and volunteers, providing consistent mentorship and guidance to foster their clinical development.

• Actively contribute to the development of best practice standards within the department to enhance service delivery and ensure effective utilization of resources.

• Engage with families and relevant community agencies to secure necessary support services and resources to prevent hospital readmission for vulnerable student populations.

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, including specialty rounds and patient care conferences, to share insights and coordinate care effectively.

This role primarily serves children and adolescents within school settings, focusing on those facing emotional distress, behavioral challenges, or socio-economic hardships. The LCSW will support students in managing crises, promoting their emotional resilience, and facilitating access to mental health resources, thereby directly contributing to their academic success and personal development.

Qualifications\n

• Must possess a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in California.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or a related field is required, with two years of relevant experience preferred.
