Job Summary Regis University School of Pharmacy (RUSOP) invites applications at the Assistant Professor rank for a full-time, 12‑month appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. We seek applicants with strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience, with expertise in internal medicine, critical care, or hospital medicine. The position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative, student‑centered Doctor of Pharmacy program that integrates the biomedical, pharmaceutical, social administrative, and clinical sciences. Curricular content is developed primarily using Team‑Based Learning (TBL), an active learning teaching model that promotes self‑directed learning, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Major Duties and Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, delivering curricular content in pharmacotherapy and laboratory courses, maintaining an innovative practice site that provides patient care services and precepting IPPE/APPE students, and engaging in service to the school, college, university, and community while maintaining a scholarly agenda. RUSOP is a nationally recognized Jesuit Catholic university located in Denver, Colorado. It offers both a traditional 4‑year PharmD pathway and an accelerated 3‑year PharmD pathway. RUSOP is a leader in active learning, combining a highly integrated curriculum with a team‑taught approach via TBL. The program provides a collaborative learning environment that prepares students to become integral members of health‑care teams, with hands‑on opportunities through laboratory skills development, patient simulation, and experiential education. RUSOP maintains accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (since 2013, renewal 2019) and has program averages for NAPLEX and postgraduate residency placement that exceed the national average. This faculty role directly supports Regis University’s strategic plan and Jesuit mission by fostering academic excellence, promoting compassionate service, and preparing students to become socially responsible health‑care professionals. Through a commitment to active learning, interprofessional collaboration, and community engagement, the Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice will play a key role in advancing health equity and developing future leaders in pharmacy guided by ethical reflection, lifelong learning, and service to others. Teaching Develop instructional materials, assessments, and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning. Evaluate student performance through assessments and continuous feedback. Deliver and facilitate learning sessions in pharmacotherapy and skills‑based learning courses. Clinical Practice and Precepting Establish and maintain a clinical pharmacy practice site in an inpatient setting. Provide patient care services. Precept pharmacy students during clinical rotations to meet programmatic outcomes. Scholarship Establish and maintain a scholarly agenda. Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and students on research projects and publications. Pursue internal and external funding opportunities to support scholarly agenda. Service Contribute service to the School, College, University, Profession, and Community. Engage in professional organizations and maintain licensure and certifications relevant to practice. Working Conditions Monday‑Friday, approximately 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for meetings, events, or additional responsibilities as assigned. Primary Work Location: Main NW Denver Campus. Requires standing for extended periods during classroom or laboratory instruction. Clinical Site Location: Acute Care/Hospital Setting. Qualifications Education Pharm.D. (or equivalent) with residency or fellowship training or clinical practice experience (or equivalent) required. Completion of PGY2 residency training in internal medicine, critical care, or other acute care/hospital medicine or completion of PGY1 general pharmacy residency training with additional inpatient care pharmacy practice experience. Licenses or Certifications Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice as a pharmacist in the state of Colorado. Professional Pharmacy Board Certification (or eligible for Board Certification) preferred. Experience Prior experience with course design, instruction, and evaluation preferred. Prior experience in teaching in an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum preferred. Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to efficiently manage documents, analyze data, and communicate effectively via email preferred.
