Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor with Highland Rivers Counseling, you will undertake the following responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments, enabling you to evaluate each patient’s unique trauma history and tailor appropriate treatment plans.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, incorporating effective resilience-building strategies.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, assisting patients in processing their trauma, developing coping techniques, and promoting holistic recovery.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure that each patient receives integrated and coordinated care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patients receive immediate and comprehensive care.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation that adheres to legal, ethical, and professional standards.

• Engage in case consultations and contribute to team meetings focused on trauma-informed practices and ongoing quality improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers on assisting individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to victims of domestic violence, natural disasters, and other adverse life events. Your work will directly impact the lives of trauma survivors, guiding them through their recovery journeys and helping them reclaim their resilience and stability.

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this rewarding position, candidates must possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Pennsylvania.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly in trauma-focused settings.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.

• Ability to remain composed during high-stress situations, providing reassurance to clients in crisis.
