Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant - Full-Time

Position Overview

PhysioSpace LLC is seeking a dedicated and qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become a vital part of our outpatient orthopedic team located in Midland Park, New Jersey. In this full-time role, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to provide exceptional rehabilitative care designed to help patients regain their strength, mobility, and independence following injuries or surgeries.

Work Environment

This full-time position is onsite at our hospital facility, which is designed to cater to a diverse patient population requiring orthopedic rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities

• Support licensed Physical Therapists in developing and executing tailored treatment plans that address individual patient needs.
• Lead patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and functional activities, ensuring correct biomechanics and safety.
• Utilize and administer physical therapy modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy to promote healing and recovery.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, recording changes, response to treatments, and communicating effectively with the supervising PT.
• Provide education to patients and their families about injury prevention, rehabilitation techniques, and home exercise programs necessary for ongoing recovery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring the confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide coordinated care and management for all patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our patients range from young athletes to the elderly, each with unique rehabilitation needs. As a PTA, you will play a crucial role in individualizing treatment strategies that not only aim for physical recovery but also enhance the patients' overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New Jersey is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Physical Therapy or Health Sciences) from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience is required in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in therapeutic exercise techniques, manual therapy approaches, and patient education strategies.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing a patient-centered approach to care.
• Basic familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a hospital or outpatient orthopedic facility is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with various therapeutic modalities.
• Previous involvement in patient education initiatives and community outreach programs.
