Work Environment

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at our Rehabilitation Center, you will work in a bustling and motivating environment. Operating Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, you will collaborate closely with a team that includes physicians, occupational therapists, and allied health professionals. Our center is structured to provide an engaging atmosphere for patients undergoing rehabilitation, which allows for both individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring you experience the rewarding sight of progress firsthand.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical therapy assessments to evaluate mobility, strength, and range of motion, identifying specific areas of concern for each patient.
• Craft and implement individualized treatment plans, guiding patients through tailored rehabilitation paths suitable for their unique needs and goals.
• Utilize a range of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques, functional training, and therapeutic exercises to facilitate recovery.
• Administer various modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy, based on each patient's condition and therapeutic objectives.
• Educate patients and their families on injury prevention strategies, providing them with personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and to adapt treatment plans in alignment with patients' progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, reflecting the delivery of care and progress towards therapy goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with primarily include those with orthopedic injuries resulting from sports activities, accidents, or degenerative conditions. Our goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment, enabling each individual to achieve the highest possible level of physical function and independence. You will work closely with patients ranging from young athletes to older adults, addressing diverse health issues and rehabilitation needs.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required, though candidates with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or a Master's degree will also be considered.
• Licensure: An active and valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida is mandatory.
• Proficiency: Strong understanding and proficiency in manual therapy techniques and other evidence-based approaches to patient care.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for effectively interacting with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in an orthopedic outpatient clinic or sports rehabilitation environment is preferred, though newly licensed therapists are encouraged to apply.
