Veterinary Relationship Manager - Strategic Accounts

Overview Covetrus is a global animal‑health technology and services leader dedicated to empowering veterinary practice partners to improve health and financial outcomes. This role is a quota‑carrying sales position responsible for leading the holistic relationship with veterinary customers, driving growth, optimization, and retention across Covetrus’ portfolio. Responsibilities Serve as the primary sales contact for regionally assigned SA Groups accounts, nurturing long‑term relationships and driving overall business growth. Identify customer needs, pain points, and opportunities to optimize adoption of existing solutions and introduce new offerings. Build action plans for customers who are at risk and conduct in‑person and virtual meetings to reinforce partnership value. Partner with SAEs and CGAs to assess account potential, align on strategic priorities, and execute activation and pull‑through strategies to ensure contract compliance. Drive or participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to communicate progress and strategic initiatives. Drive revenue and net gross profit growth through solution adoption and compliance improvement; generate leads, prospect opportunities, and close solution sales within the designated territory. Execute quarterly campaigns to meet goals and maintain accurate data in Salesforce (SFDC) for account management and pipeline tracking. Act as a customer liaison for onboarding and implementation processes, ensuring seamless transitions and positive customer experiences. Leverage internal resources to deliver engagement activities such as clinic level business reviews, webinars and optimization initiatives. Analyze internal reports to identify growth opportunities, provide feedback to marketing, product development, and operations teams, and guide sales efforts. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field (preferred); equivalent experience accepted. 4+ years of experience in sales, account management, or similar roles within the veterinary or healthcare industry. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and manage strategic relationships. Track record of driving revenue growth and customer retention. Strong communication, negotiation, persuasion and collaboration skills. High emotional intelligence, problem‑solving and consultative selling capabilities. Solid understanding of veterinary workflows, practice management systems, and compliance. Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and data analytics. Ability to adapt in fast‑paced environments and resolve business challenges effectively and self‑sufficiently. Performance Measures Revenue and net gross profit growth Contract compliance and pull‑through at clinic level Solution adoption, utilization and retention Customer retention and satisfaction Work Environment Primarily virtual engagement with customers; up to 40% travel for field visits, meetings, and training required in CA and AZ. Attendance at national and regional sales meetings is required. Occasional night/weekend travel may be necessary. A valid state driver’s license is required. Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job‑related skills, experience, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
