About the Position

Join a leading, partner-backed healthcare provider in west-central Ohio offering a permanent, high-priority Gastroenterology position. Operating within an expansive 300-bed regional medical center and an advanced ambulatory procedural suite, this role focuses on the comprehensive diagnosis, medical management, and endoscopic treatment of digestive and liver diseases across a 10-county region.

 

• Perform a high volume of routine and advanced endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies (EGD).
• Diagnose and provide expert longitudinal medical management for conditions such as GERD, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), chronic liver disease, and pancreatitis.
• Manage a balanced clinical workflow providing efficient outpatient specialty clinic care alongside high-acuity inpatient hospital consultations.
• Collaborate closely with general surgery, oncology, and interventional teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care pathways when surgical intervention is required.
• Maintain timely, precise, and compliant electronic clinical documentation and procedural reporting for all patient encounters.   • Full-time, permanent schedule balancing dedicated ambulatory surgery center block times, outpatient clinic hours, and structured inpatient consult rounds.
• Shared gastroenterology call rotation schedule to be detailed directly during the initial interview phase.  

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Gastroenterology.
• Active Ohio state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure).
• Proven procedural competence and excellent technical skills in standard endoscopic modalities.
• Ability to meet all medical staff credentialing and hospital endoscopy privileging standards.   • Advanced procedural skills in core diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (Colonoscopy and EGD).
• Comprehensive evaluation and clinical management of acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders.
• High-efficiency multi-setting workflow management spanning clinic, inpatient floors, and the GI lab.
• Exceptional clinical judgment, swift complication management, and meticulous operative documentation.
• Patient-centered communication tailored for sensitive discussions regarding digestive health and chronic disease modifications.
