Superintendent

Our client, a respected commercial general contractor with a strong presence in retail construction, is seeking a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent to lead a ground-up project in Irvine. This is a key field leadership role for someone with big box or grocery retail experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants long-term growth. The position offers a clear path to step into a General Superintendent role, overseeing multiple projects and mentoring field teams. Key Responsibilities Lead ground-up construction operations from mobilization through project completion Manage daily field activities, subcontractors, and site logistics Drive and maintain the project schedule, ensuring milestones are met Champion and enforce a strong safety culture on-site Ensure all work aligns with plans, specs, and quality standards Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and trade sequencing Identify and proactively resolve field issues to avoid delays Partner with the Project Manager on schedule, cost, and execution strategy Run site meetings and provide progress updates Mentor and support junior field staff Qualifications 5–15+ years of commercial construction experience Proven success delivering ground-up big box or grocery retail projects Strong scheduling and sequencing knowledge Experience managing multiple trades on large, fast-paced jobsites Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and submittals Familiarity with construction tech (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.) Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills OSHA 30 preferred Why This Role Stands Out Immediate, high-visibility project in Irvine Long-term opportunity with a consistent pipeline of retail work Defined growth path to General Superintendent Field-driven culture with strong operational support Competitive base salary $130-160k Performance bonus Vehicle allowance or company vehicle Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k) #J-18808-Ljbffr raise consulting
