This full-time position allows you to work remotely within a community health clinic setting, providing vital mental health services to individuals affected by trauma. Work Environment\n

As a remote mental health counselor at Independence Therapy Center, you'll work within a supportive and flexible environment that prioritizes client well-being. Our clinic values open communication among team members and emphasizes teamwork, providing the necessary resources to meet the evolving needs of our clients. While routine hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, some flexibility in scheduling is expected to accommodate patient appointments as necessary.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' trauma histories, experiences, and specific needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique situation.

• Utilize modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate clients' healing processes.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to patient care.

• Provide timely crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping strategies, ensuring that they understand the resources available to them.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings, contributing ideas and insights to enhance our trauma-informed practices.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in trauma therapy to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your focus will be primarily on individuals who have suffered from various forms of trauma, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will aid individuals in navigating their challenges and accessing the support they need to thrive.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Georgia.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, focusing on trauma-informed care.
\n
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective treatment methodologies.
\n
• Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy and maintain a non-judgmental approach.

• Capability to perform under pressure and respond effectively in crisis situations.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.

• A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits\n
