Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of students’ counseling needs, employing appropriate methodologies to foster an understanding of their challenges.

• Utilize DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) criteria to assess clients for substance use disorders, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment pathways according to ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) standards.

• Develop and document the substance use counseling components of individualized treatment plans that reflect client needs and establish clear recovery goals.
\n
• Create thorough discharge and continuum of care plans to assure a responsible transition for clients into the appropriate levels of ongoing care and support.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all counseling and educational interventions, assessments, and follow-ups in each client’s clinical record, ensuring compliance and accountability.
\n
• Manage a caseload of clients effectively, which includes treatment planning duties and regular utilization reviews pertinent to their ongoing care.
\n
• Facilitate coordination among support services including client families, external stakeholders, and referral sources, also maintaining effective communication with legal, educational, or occupational representatives when necessary.

• Employ a multi-disciplinary team approach to deliver timely interventions during crisis situations, ensuring the safety and stability of your assigned clients.

This role primarily focuses on school-aged clients who are navigating various challenges, including mental health issues and substance use disorders. You will have the opportunity to work with students in a dynamic environment, offering both individual and family/group therapy sessions, ultimately guiding them toward long-term recovery and emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of Texas is mandatory.
