Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, documenting client histories and treatment progress from the initial consultation through to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to accurately assess their needs and coordinate appropriate care strategies.
\n
• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans for clients, considering their unique circumstances such as relationship dynamics, family issues, and personal challenges.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support recovery and foster personal growth.
\n
• Regularly monitor clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure alignment with therapeutic goals.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to ensure coordinated care and optimal client outcomes.

• Engage in follow-up communication with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals for clients who may require hospitalization or specialized services.

• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, offering guidance to clients and their families on effective coping strategies.

• Provide support to family members and primary caregivers in navigating the complexities of mental and behavioral health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily support a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, and families dealing with various mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure in New York as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker - R (LCSW-R).

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role is essential, showcasing your ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly with AVATAR, to maintain accurate and confidential client documentation.

• Experience working with clients experiencing a range of psychological and emotional issues, including addiction and dual-diagnosis cases.

• Familiarity with evidence-based practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) for effective client management.

• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications prescribed by physicians, along with their potential effects on clients' mental health.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear interactions with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy and a supportive approach to treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
