The work setting for this position is largely remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance while engaging with clients through virtual consultations. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document client cases from initial consultation through end of treatment, ensuring accurate and comprehensive case records.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, utilizing advanced assessment tools and techniques.
\n
• Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans for clients, including those with complex mental health concerns, adjustment disorders, and relationship issues.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that address various mental health challenges while fostering a safe and supportive environment for client expression.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting tactics as necessary based on therapeutic effectiveness.
\n
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
\n
• Follow up with healthcare providers for clients who have been admitted to hospitals, coordinating care plans and aftercare services.
\n
• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, offering guidance and strategies to clients and their families.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing the emotional and behavioral challenges associated with their loved ones' mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and life transitions, as well as couples and families facing relational challenges. You will be instrumental in creating a culturally competent and empathetic environment where every client feels heard and supported.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker-R (LCSW-R) in the state of New York.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.

• A strong background in clinical counseling with proven experience as a mental health counselor.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms, to maintain meticulous client records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with various underlying physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with the best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Knowledge of the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical specialists.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fostering clear communication with clients and colleagues.
