Central Park Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in providing high-quality, patient-centered psychotherapy services to clients through a remote telehealth platform. Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to establish baselines and identify areas for intervention. \n
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for clients, ensuring they align with therapeutic goals and facilitate progression in the therapeutic process. \n
- Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, adapting techniques to meet the diverse needs and backgrounds of clients. \n
- Document cases meticulously from initial consultations through the completion of treatment, adhering to privacy standards and improving client care continuity. \n
- Collaborate effectively with other health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create integrated care plans that enhance treatment outcomes. \n
- Provide necessary referrals for additional services and follow up on client progress, making adjustments as necessary to treatment plans. \n
- Offer guidance and support to families and primary caregivers navigating their loved ones' mental health challenges. \n
- Stay updated with best practices in mental health counseling and participate in regular professional development to enhance skills and service quality. \n
The counselor will work with a diverse client population, ranging from adolescents to adults, addressing various issues including anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, trauma, and behavioral disorders. Our telehealth approach opens avenues for inclusivity, enabling clients from various geographic locations to access mental health support without barriers such as transportation or mobility challenges.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. \n
- Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in the state of New York. \n
- Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). \n
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. \n
- Strong interpersonal abilities combined with a compassionate nature, supporting clients in a genuine and effective manner. \n

- Previous experience as a mental health counselor, particularly in a telehealth setting, is highly desirable. \n
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, for efficient documentation and case management. \n
- Experience in dealing with mental health issues alongside physical health conditions and substance use disorders. \n
- Knowledge of the best practices and guidelines recommended by organizations such as the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). \n
The salary range for this position is USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with the bonus of a sign-on incentive. In addition to competitive compensation, our benefits package includes:
