Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' psychological histories and trauma experiences, enabling personalized treatment planning.

• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and building resilience in clients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to aid clients in processing trauma effectively.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, facilitating discussions that help clients articulate their feelings, develop coping strategies, and foster a sense of community.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, other mental health professionals, and support staff to provide integrated and comprehensive care to our patients.

• Be prepared to provide crisis intervention and supportive resources during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available local resources to enhance support systems.

• Maintain accurate and secure clinical documentation in line with legal, ethical, and HIPAA standards.

• Engage in ongoing case consultations and team meetings to discuss treatment approaches and share insights and strategies for best practices in trauma-informed care.

• Commit to continuous professional development by staying current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily serve adult clients who have endured traumatic experiences, focusing on their unique backgrounds and psychological needs. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a current and valid professional license in New York as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R.

Compensation and Benefits\n

A Step Ahead Counseling Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
