College: Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services Position Title: 2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool - Social Work School of Social Work Instructional Faculty – Part‑time Temporary/Lecturer Pool Position Details The School of Social Work in the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services at Cal State LA is seeking applications for a pool of part‑time faculty lecturers. Positions will be available as needed during the 2026‑2027 academic year, with appointments made based on instructional needs per semester. Initial appointments are typically for one semester; period‑long appointments may also be offered. Renewals depend on department needs, funding, and performance. Faculty may need to be available on very short notice. Minimum Qualifications

• Appropriate degree from an accredited university (master’s in social work or related field).
• Ability to relate well within an academic environment and demonstrate interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural setting.
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to student‑centered learning and teaching.
• Proficient in written and oral use of English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, inclusive environment.
• Relevant work experience and training.
• Appropriate doctoral or terminal degree.

Duties Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, office hours, and other tasks assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, dates, time, and modality are directed by the Department Chair and College Dean. Salary Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary ranges for Academic Year‑month Classification (as of 7/1/2024) are:

• Lecturer A (2 FTE): $5,507 – $6,677 per month
• Lecturer B (3 FTE): $6,221 – $13,224 per month
• Lecturer C (4 FTE): $6,825 – $14,523 per month
• Lecturer D (5 FTE): $8,593 – $15,211 per month

Hires typically near the minimum of the appropriate range; most new lecturers are hired at Lecturer A or B rank.
