New Path Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality mental health care, specifically tailored for individuals navigating the complexities of trauma recovery.

Work Environment\n

As a remote facility, our work environment is designed to promote flexibility and comfort for both our clients and staff. You will engage with clients through a secure virtual platform, allowing you to connect meaningfully and safely from any location. Our team operates on a clear Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and while some flexibility in scheduling may be required to meet patient demands, we value work-life balance and support the well-being of our therapists.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to identify patients’ trauma histories, strengths, and treatment needs.

• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans focusing on recovery, resilience, and skill-building tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing and coping.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, helping patients process their trauma, develop effective coping strategies, and foster a sense of community with peers.
\n
• Collaborate proactively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care, sharing pertinent information and insights about patient progress.
\n
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms while providing resources for ongoing support and recovery.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance treatment approaches and share insights from your practice.
\n
• Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals who have faced significant trauma, including veterans, survivors of abuse, and those dealing with complex emotional challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of the nuances involved in trauma responses, creating a need for an approach that is both personalized and compassionate.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of Florida.
\n
• Desire and aptitude to work in a remote setting while effectively managing communication and documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical role, particularly with trauma-focused therapies.

• Strong familiarity with resilience-building approaches and trauma-related treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate with compassion to individuals in distress while maintaining professionalism.

• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations, facilitating a supportive environment for patients.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and computer applications for documentation and communication.

Compensation and Benefits\n
