Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Deliver individual, group and family, therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy.
• Implement crisis management techniques and crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during emergencies.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
• Manage medical records and clinical documentation accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including case managers, medical professionals, educators, and social workers—to coordinate care for clients with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
• Engage in ongoing research and data collection to inform treatment approaches and improve client outcomes; stay current with ICD coding updates and medical terminology relevant to mental health care.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or certified Substance Abuse Counselor with state-specific credentials.
• Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, or addiction counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
• Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and patient assessment within inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation; experience with medical documentation standards is essential.
• Experience working via telehealth platforms; knowledge of HIPAA compliance is required.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration; proficiency in clinical research or data collection is a plus.
• Knowledge of special education needs or pediatric mental health issues is desirable; experience working with individuals with autism or chronic pain is advantageous.
